Thing 11
A few years ago, while my husband was working 6 hours from our home, we became familiar with IMing. We IM'd on and off all day. We both had yahoo accounts at the time. Now I don't use IM much. Facebook does have this capability, so sometimes I chat with friends. I see my sons IMing several friends at once, but I prefer to visit with one person at a time.
Thing 10
Although I didn't sign up for a Ning account, I found interesting information exploring Ning networks. I looked for mission organizations that had traveled to Ecuador. Of course, I checked out library networks as well.
Thing 8 & 9
Facebook has been a great way for me to find friends from the past and keep up with out-of-town family members. I was reluctant to put my info out there at first, but then started connecting with people. Facebook can be addicting. I had to decide how many applications I wanted to spend time on. I finally stopped most applications and just talk to friends and family. It's fun to post pictures. While my son has been out of the country I can see his updates and the photo's he posts. Groups I have joined? A couple of library groups, my Alma mater, and my favorite radio station

Thing 7
RSS feed is great. I can use it at the library for work related stuff and at home for fun. Looks like it could be addicting.
Thing 6
The reader is a little like having sites bookmarked but much better. I will enjoy this feature. It was easy to set up and to maintain. What a great tool for the library world.

Thing 4
I have been trying to add this picture for 3 days - not even sure how it finally got here . These are marigolds from my backyard.
Colr pickr was cool. I spent more time with flappr. My favorite searches with flappr were dachshunds, water, sisters, flowers. There was a beautiful picture of a field of tulips.

More Thing 3
market
This is an interesting picture from a downtown market. I have to admit my son helped me post this link.

Thing 3
Wow, I had never browsed pictures in Flickr before. I chose to search for pictures of Amman, Jordan, where my son is visiting. Flickr could be used by students needing pictures for projects. I enjoyed looking at the pictures other libraries had posted. This would be great for our library.
Thing 2
2.0 is a great tool to familiarize myself with new technology. Facebook is the only application I had used before starting 2.0. I can see each step will take some time for me to explore. Now I will know what the teens at our library are talking about!
