Thing 11

A few years ago, while my husband was working 6 hours from our home, we became familiar with IMing. We IM'd on and off all day. We both had yahoo accounts at the time. Now I don't use IM much. Facebook does have this capability, so sometimes I chat with friends. I see my sons IMing several friends at once, but I prefer to visit with one person at a time.

Thing 10

Although I didn't sign up for a Ning account, I found interesting information exploring Ning networks. I looked for mission organizations that had traveled to Ecuador. Of course, I checked out library networks as well.

Thing 8 & 9

Facebook has been a great way for me to find friends from the past and keep up with out-of-town family members. I was reluctant to put my info out there at first, but then started connecting with people. Facebook can be addicting. I had to decide how many applications I wanted to spend time on. I finally stopped most applications and just talk to friends and family. It's fun to post pictures. While my son has been out of the country I can see his updates and the photo's he posts. Groups I have joined? A couple of library groups, my Alma mater, and my favorite radio station
